Australian-APEC Women in Research Fellowship

Hello ITS Students.

The Australian APEC Study Centre at RMIT University is pleased to announce the launch of the 2016 ‘Australia-APEC Women in Research Fellowship’. This exciting new initiative will support high-achieving female researchers from developing APEC economies to further their research work in Australia.

Funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training, the ‘Australia-APEC Women in Research Fellowship’ will offer up to 10 fellowships per year for female post-graduate researchers to work in partnership with an Australian education institution to undertake a research project.

This opportunity is open to citizens and permanent residents from Chile, People’s Republic of China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Centre welcomes applications for research projects varying between 1 and 4 months in duration. A maximum of $23,300 is available for each fellowship.

Please note that applications will close 3 April 2016. More information and application forms can be found at http://www.rmit.edu.au/about/our-education/academic-colleges/college-of-business/industry/australian-apec-study-centre/projects/australia—apec-women-in-research-fellowship/.

The fellowship has also been included in an online APEC Education Portal which can be accessed at http://education.apec.org/. The portal was welcomed last year by the Minister for Trade and Investment, Andrew Robb and Minister for Education and Training, Christopher Pyne. These “fellowships will support women’s economic empowerment in the region and will also address an important priority of APEC to raise the profile of female role models in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
