International Summer School of Archaeology and Greek Language

Dear ITS students, 

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki will be holding an international summer school from 10th until 28th July for advanced undergraduate and graduate students, preferably in the fields of study of archaeology, history of art, anthropology, or classics and history.

In this summer school, participants will be taught basic vocabulary and useful expressions in Modern Greek, as well as Greek culture and lifestyle, during the first week. The next two weeks will be spent doing fieldwork at the Bronze and Iron Age settlement site of Thessaloniki Toumba. Participants will be introduced to frontline fieldwork methods, archaelogical theory, and hands-on workshop on interdisciplinary approaches related to excavated finds.

Duration: 3 weeks | Period: 10-28 July 2017

Relating fields: Archaeology, History of Art, Anthropology, Classics and History (preferably with emphasis in Ancient and Medieval periods)

Level: Preferably advanced undergraduate and graduate students

Number of participants: 15-20

Fees: 2000 euros | Discount: 200 euros (registrations till 1 March 2017)
